Beijing 2024 - National Museum of China (中国国家博物馆) Snow Dragon (雪龙)

As I didn't know much about the history of modern China, I spend just a short time inside taking in the grand atmosphere. After that I went back to looked at my Snow Dragon and learn more about it :) So basically Ice Breakers are ships that are built specifically to explore the Arctic or Antarctic where the sea is filled with ice, hence the name Ice Breaker as the ships needed to be able to breakthrough the ice to move forward. Above is the navigation path of both the Snow Dragon.

Apparently China has been conducting such expedition for 40 years now! You can zoom in to read more of the official information found in the museum.

More timeline and info displayed at the great hall.

Some memorabilia that was wore by the scientist and crew of the expedition.

Log books of the crew, researchers, scientist. I though this was pretty cool. I always imagine that it would be fun to be part of such study. Recording and documenting daily observation. Is it too late for me to still search and join such study trip? Lol.

I would have joint the expedition just to get this penguin badge! How cute is that! This was probably the coolest badge of honour I've ever seen in my life!
