Solo Trip - Kuala Lumpur (November 2022) - Arriving in KL Hotel Area

By the time I reached my hotel, which was at Bukit Bintang area, it was evening. I have not been to KL for a very very long time, in 2009! It has been almost 12 years. Everything looked different! There were so many tall buildings! And for some reason, so many foreigners of middle easter origin! Was I in the correct place?

Bukit Bintang was buzzing with people. MRT/LRT were zipping by on the overhead track. Neo lights, plasma display, and traffic everywhere! I was gonna be staying here 6 days 5 nights. 4 of the nights being in Bukit Bintang, at a cheap motel in some back alley for 32.25SGD a night. It was kinda cheap, and kinda expensive. It was  a studio room. I'm at that age that I want to be cheap, but also comfortable!

The hotel Melange Boutique was situated at the back alley of Jalan Alor, a famous food street. It was nice that it has a beautiful mural painted there. But I have to walk in via a back alley, next to a streets of foot massager. I figure since I go out early, and come back early, it would not be a problem. The other thing was, there are two dogs guarding the entrance of the hotel. I'm not a big fan of dogs. But luckily, they were quite friendly.

The room had everything. Bed, fridge, tv, own bathroom, even a nice lamp. It also has a window next to the bed which was cosy, but which I found it couldn't be locked! I usually bring all my important belongings out with me anyway, so not really a problem. To be honest, I don't have much to steal from, lol.

The toilet was also well equipped, so yay to me who don't bring anything but maybe a toothbrush and a bar soap. But I recall I really hated the lightings in the bathroom. Cause the light shines directly on to my head, and shows the thinning of my hair remarkably clear. Every time I shower, I feel stressed over my lost of hair -_____-

I love the warm lamp on the desk, and also all the kettle and mug. I mainly buy food back and eat  my breakfast in the hotel every morning. It is so much more comfortable and relaxing, plus I can eat really nice bread and cakes on the cheap! There is also a big tv hanging on top of the desk. Some mornings when I woke up too early, I would watch Korean Cartoon on it :P  But I realised later on, the window serves a more entertaining outlet for me. Every single night, something happens at the back alley. From people dancing barefoot, to accidents and shouting match. It was the sights and scenes of KL. Just stay out of what's happening, and you would be ok. I once dinned at Chinatown area for porridge breakfast, and there was a robbery occurring, and a chase. Everyone just casually stood up and watch the commotion, and then sat down and continue eating again like it was an everyday occurrence. Shocking. But also a memorable experience.

After settling down. I decided to go take a walk around Bukit Bintang, find dinner, and checked out Donki store nearby. I browsed for a long while before settling on this tempura udon at Lot10 Japanese Food Court. Everything was Halal here, so I didn't have my hopes too high. But the moment I taste it, OMG, mind blown! I was so wrong! This was the start of a wonderful Japanese dinning experience for me in KL! Yes, my retirement backup plan was going to be awesome!
