I forgot to mentioned in my previous post that I also got a few souvenirs from the shopping streets near where we were staying. Above I got a wooden comb. I love wooden comb, and I pick this design cause I wanted to feel like a elegant Chinese lady whenever I am combing my hair. Sadly I don't comb my hair that often! Lol. My husband also gifted me a box of traditional moisturiser (I think). I love the smell of it, and it's not sticky like those western lotions.
Next morning's breakfast of lovely Beijing Yogurt. Who would have thought the Chinese Yogurt taste so much better than the western ones! Super love these. I bet they have other types of similar yogurt in other parts of China, but I hesitate to try them as I don't know which is nice. But so far, I've loved all the yogurt drink I tried on my recent trip to Shanghai. I drank a total of 4 cups of yogurt drink, and my favourite was persimmon yogurt in Shanghai.
On our last day, we have about half a day left before we needed to head to the airport. Our flight was actually around midnight, so we got plenty of time. So we checked out early and decided to go back to NiuJie cause I wanted to buy some stuff there and also eat the Halal Mutton Soup there. While walking to our destination, I saw a multi-storey gold jewelry shop and was curious to go in and see. The place was like 5 or 6 level! Each selling different types of jewelries. We found some jade and precious stone floor which looked more like a museum than a shop. Above is one of the many unusual display available here.
Here is another one. It looked almost like an alien planet! This is a zoom in photo.
One of the main display here was also a table filled with traditional Chinese food. But when you look closer, you will realised they are all made of precious stones. How cool is that.
Finally found the food stalls. I think we got some snacks to eat later.
I wanted to try everything. They looked so good, but I know I can't eat everything. So I bought some to much on when I'm at the airport.
But we couldn't resist snack on a few. I think these were our breakfast/morning snack.
Headed to the small shop area early before the lunch crowd to have our mutton soup. I still miss the taste of this.
Anyway, in case you want to visit the gold shop, above is the name of the shop.
