Manchester/Scotland 2025 - Isle of Skye Tour An Corran Beach Dinosaur Footprint

Road trip! Bonus edition! This wasn't on my radar when Jada told us we were going to see dinosaur footprints!!!! Can this tour get any better than that???? She even played the Jurassic Park theme song as she drove us up the coast road to find parking at An Corran Beach. I was too excited! The view from the parking lot above as we made our way down to the beach.

I think I may have read about dinosaur footprints in United Kingdom before, but it never cross my mind that I would get to see them in Isle of Skye. I knew there were some dinosaur stuff to see on Skye too, but I figure most people won't be interested, or that it would be too out of the way. So I am beyond excited when she said we will get to see actual footprints!

Above is just a human foot print :P  I thought it was interesting.

Some info on the type of dinosaur that used to roam this area. Isn't that cool???? Do we have dinosaurs in South East Asia? I know China has them. Did a quick google search and apparently Laos and Thailand does have dinosaur remains...... I guess Malaysia and Singapore doesn't have sufficient land space to support these creatures......

Making our way down to the beach. We even helped a local man carry some of his stuff down to the beach. Actually he just simply reached out to me and my husband as we were walking pass him and handed us his stuff, lol. Jada told us later that that was part of the way of living in Skye where people just ask other people for help when they need it, and people just tend to help. I mean, it's such a big island, but with so few actual people living on it..... I guess it's almost like a very very big village.

The beach itself was nothing like how I expected a beach to be. For a start, there were no soft sandy beach. It was mainly rocks and pebbles.

There was a corner of sandy area, but the sand was more like mud, covered in seaweeds and rocks.

Yeah, ok. Now that I'm looking at this photo above, I guess I kinda can imagine dinosaurs walking here. It really does looked like a landscape from a Jurassic age.

Jada lead us to the rockier part of the beach. Initially I didn't want to follow them as I was afraid of slipping on those wet rocks. But since they wandered off for such a long time, I myself begin to wandered nearer and nearer to the rocky area and found that it wasn't too difficult to walk on those grounds.

A view of the beach as people went about searching for prints. To be fair, none of us knew what we were supposed to be looking for. All we saw with our untrained eyes were just rocks.

As you can see here, some of the area was covered my moss or seaweed, making it extra slippery. On a normal day, I love moss on rocks, but not when I have to walk on them. Thank goodness for boots! Even though my cheap boots don't have great grips, at least they were seasoned boots and I could walk on them quite comfortably.

Everyone is hard at work. I love this green photo with the reflection of the sky slightly reflected on the water. I guess nobody is going back until we see some dinosaur footprints!

After a while of failed attempts, even Jada gave up and decided to show us where the prints were. That's her in the photo above. And just in front of her was a print. -_________-"""

Can you see it? A chicken feet embedded in the rock? lol.

Here is actually how big the foot was against mine for comparison. How amazing! Best tour ever! There were supposed to be a few more footprints along the beach, but with our untrained eyes, we still couldn't spot them on our own. To read more about the footprints found here, you can open this link here.

I'll just leave a video here too of other dinosaur's finding on the Isle of Skye
