Sapporo Hotel

We stayed in two different hotel in Sapporo, both being near Susukino Station cause it was affordable, and close to everything. Above is the famous Nikka sign in Susukino. Susukino is supposed to be a red light district, but I guess during winter time, its kinda hard to see the action out on the street. It was snowing most of the time, and quite heavily too! I'll show you how much in the next few blog post. It eventually clear up later in our stay.

The two hotels we stayed in were: Tokyo Rei, and Sunroute hotel. Both were chained business men hotel. The rooms were all very small. And being the cheapo travellers that we are, we didn't book any breakfast with it. Instead, we got most of our food and snacks from the local convenient stores. The last hotel, Sunroute, even has a Family Mart build next to it. The side entrance of the hotel leads directly into a Family Mart before headed out into the covered streets. Above is what a shopping street look like.

Basically we stayed within walking distance to the main shopping street, which is Tanukikoji Shopping Street. Above is the mascot of the street, all dressed up to welcome in the new year 2017! You can find lots of souvenir shops here, and even Don Quijote! I'll post the snacks and restaurant that we visited on the shopping area in a separate post. But basically it's a super long shopping streets, chopped up in sections, so you can walk from one end to the other end, with small cross roads between the streets.

Special Mention:
1. The first hotel we stayed at even has a shuttle bus to and from JR Sapporo. I think we took the bus once, although I can't quite remember it too clearly. From the hotel, it was almost a 20mins walk underground mostly to JR Sapporo Station.

2. For the last hotel, which was Sunroute, we pick it cause it has a direct airport bus just outside the hotel. It was a public bus, and it starts really early so that it was convenient for us to catch it to the airport on our last day since our plane was in the early morning.

3. The first hotel actually allows us to deposit our luggage with them while we went on our onsen trip for 3 nights! They did not charge us for keeping the luggage, and we really really appreciated that! So kudos for great service!

I'll leave the link of both the hotels in the reference section below.
