Beijing 2024 - Forbidden City Beautiful Alleys and Hidden Corners

One of the beautiful sights I wasn't expecting to see at the grand Forbidden City, which also happens to be my favourite, was actually the smaller courtyards and small alleys that runs all around the ground. They were so colourful and narrow that it kinda gives you a more intimate connection to the daily lives of the people living here long time ago. So this post is dedicated to all those small corners that you might come across only if you spend time exploring the place. Small empty alleys, I wasn't expecting that here!

Stepped inside one, and it felt almost like you've left the huge crowd of tourist outside behind. You could finally find peace and some breathing place here, still inside the Forbidden City. It was a nice quiet place to explore, almost like a maze, but every single one slightly different than the rest.

You could tell they were all different cause every single door here has a unique name! And what lovely red wooden door filled with metal decorations. I wander who stays in all these little small houses.

Everyone seems so mysterious. Like a private village inside the palace.

Some were closed, and some were opened to the public. For those that you can wander into, the wooden carvings on the roof, the walls and the door frames were just so elaborated.

I still can't believe I can take photos like these with nobody in sight at the Forbidden City!

I love the combination of this one, green and red, and light shinning out from the inside giving you a warm yellow colour. Although the colours of the facade was kinda faded, it does give out a cool vibe.

The walls separating each courtyard was of red and orange.

Look how pretty it is, just taking photos here. Yet there aren't many people here! Hahaha. I laugh at all the tourist who never see this side of the palace. What a pity. I guess that's what being on a tour is like. And as I am saying this, I actually have a whirlwind of a tour coming up end of the year visiting a bunch of countries that I know nothing about. I guess that's what I hate most about tours, visiting a place and not learning much about it..... But on every own trip that I planned, I learned so much about the place, the country, the food, the people, the language, the transportation. It's just so much more fulfilling.

More orange courtyards.

And my personal model posting for me. His t-shirt colour actually fits the background.

Another casual post of my personal model :P

And lastly, a wefie of me and my favourite green house!
