Danang/Hue/HoiAn 2025 - Hoi An Market

I knew I had to turn back soon to meet my friend for breakfast. I reached the Hoi An market around this time, so I thought it would be a logical spot to turn back on my solo walk. But not before exploring the market of course! Again, I reached the market a lot sooner than I expected. On the map, everything looked like it's a long walk away. But when you're actually there, it was quite a breeze to walk here.

The word "Cho" means "market", that's how I knew this was the market place. It was a famous tourist spot too, for people to come and get their souvenirs or get their dress, shoes, bags, or whatever custom made. But it was now early in the morning, so most of those shops were closed as we all know that tourist only comes out after their hotel buffet breakfast is over :P

But that doesn't stopped me from walking in anyway! Even though it was dark inside, I just had to walk in. I knew it might be dangerous, but then this was the market place, and my instincts said it was ok to go ahead. I am glad I did! It was such a nice photo to take! Love the covers in the dark of red, white and blue. And further distance was the actual wet market area which was already in full swing.

Here is a narrower shot of the place.

I walked all the way beyond the dark hallways of the market, until I reached the outside of the wet market. I smiled when I see the scene. This was a place I was familiar with, the morning wet market. I love explorer here where the locals come to get their daily food supplies.

People were walking around, and bikes were also in the way! Most vendors were seated on the road side selling their stuff. It was such a  typical South East Asia scene! I love it! I felt at home here.

One of the things I love about this was how green and fresh the vegetables were! So many colours and sights. Lots of meat and fishes being sold as well. People talking in their local dialect. Nobody really cared to get my business as they could see I was not local. I was ignored, so I could enjoy the sights and be curious without being bothered. When I visit local markets, I always I could try buying some of the stuff and have a kitchen for me to experiment with. Maybe one day I can go back and stay in Hoi An for a month just to do that. I don't think I'll get bored. I actually like some of the food here. I can't wait to start my super slow travel one day......
