Korea 2024 - Busan Dinner and Private Yatch

On our 2nd night at Busan, our Korean Teacher arranged for us a seafood dinner at a local restaurant. It was within walking distance from our hotel, so we had some free and easy time to ourselves after coming back from Ananti. We all met at the restaurant at a fixed time for our dinner, and wow! What a dinner. A whole pot of seafood soup, filled with live abalone!

Above is a video of the abalone being cooked. I think this is my first time seeing it being cooked like this. I'm not a fan of abalone. They taste like old tire to me. Usually I make people happy during Chinese Dinners by giving my abalone to the person sitting next to me, and enjoying the other vegetables that came with it instead. I know that abalone are expensive and most people like it, but I don't see a point of eating something that doesn't appeal to me. So the list of the things that are expensive and doesn't appeal to me are: abalone, sea cucumber, and bird nest. Yup, all the expensive Chinese stuff. I do however love shark's fin soup.....

Besides the seafood, there is also Korean pancake Pajeon? But this one was filled with octopus! So yummy! And there was also a huge bowl of abalone porridge! Needless to say, there was too much food, and most Singaporean ladies don't eat a lot. So I was happy that the teacher told us to 'tabao' it back since all the dishes were rather expensive and she didn't want it to go to waste. Interestingly, me and my husband have a habit of bringing a container with us when we travel. So we pack all the left over pancakes back with us! I had them for breakfast the next day. Even without heating it up, it was delicious! I love anything cooked in eggs :P

After dinner, I was told by the teacher to lead the group to Bay 101 where she has booked a private yacht for us to view the night scenes of Busan! I was 'arrowed' because earlier that morning, I have lead two ladies on a walk to Dongbaek Island, and on our way back, we have passed by the harbour, which is where Bay 101 was situated. It was maybe a 15 to 20 minutes walk. For some reason, people keep complaining that I walked too fast, lol.

The counter where we went to register ourselves for the yacht.

Above is what our yacht looked like. We booked it for a ride out to the bridge and back, and it came with a captain and a helper to accompany us. Interestingly, this wasn't my first time on a yacht :P  I've actually when on my first yacht ride during Covid! It was a great excuse to go out into the sea when you can't travel. And it was a very much larger yacht with rooms you could stayed in. It was a promotional photo shot trip for a friend of my husband's event company, and we took it from Sentosa Cove all the way to Lazarus Island, docking for lunch, before heading back.

Anyway, the Busan Yacht also came with free drinks and snacks. It was actually quite affordable as compared to booking a yacht in Singapore! Lol. And I actually took a few cans of drinks and snacks back with me after the ride since it was paid for. Really, I just see no sense in wasting money or food!

The ride out to the bridge as everyone scramble to take some photos.

Lovely night view.

We could also see all the high rise buildings on the coast all lighted up like diamonds.

I feel really fortunate to be able to experience this. It was just so beautiful and relaxing.

If you're ever in Busan, try it out!

Right out at sea, the ride also included a firework display! How very k-drama cheese! But where else could you experience this? Lol. It was timed together with some of the other yacht from the same company, so it was quite a display! And on our way back, there was a lot of singing of Korean songs by our teacher and some of her students. Can't post those here without permission! Lol.

A souvenir shot of the group in front of Bay 101 before we walked back to our hotel. What a night!

And lastly, this is my leg souvenir shot as a lay on the deck enjoying the night view and sea breeze. As I travel, I've come to take a collection of relaxing leg shots of me relaxing in various location. I plan to one day do a montage of it, cause looking at such photos always bring back such lovely memory of a place I felt relaxed in.
