Korea 2024 - Gyeong-Ju Cafe and Traditional Houses

We were free to explore the shops at the tourist town area of Gyeong-Ju. As it was rather cold and rainy, some of us saw a nice cafe called Kado & Kado, and decided to stop for tea here. Apparently, I think it's a Japanese cafe :P

Which kinda explains the aesthetic of the place. Above was our order. As usual, I forgo the drinks and ordered my favourite canele instead :)  I think my husband ordered a hot chocolate for the rainy day :)

Sitting beside us, my friend and daughter's order. So colourful and pretty!

Here's a selfie of me with my tea :P  I love spending slow afternoon in a cafe. Especially one that is not crowded.

Me and my dearest KC <3

After our tea, we took a slow walk around town. I saw so many beautiful traditional houses. Love the wooden door that seems to lead into a private housing area. Some of these were turned into restaurants or AirBnB lodging. I love staying in traditional places!

I love the garden in the compound.

And the rise up flooring of the traditional houses. In Japan, these are called Komikan, old houses. And in Korea, there is always kimche pots outside the house.

I am guessing the above is a vegetarian restaurant? I love the lotus poster they put outside.

Not all things are traditional though. I also came across this version of Beatles crossing a zebra crossing. I thought it looked kinda cute :P There were many shops along the way too, I just didn't find them interesting.....
