Solo Trip - Taiwan (July 2023) - Taichung Miyahara Store

It was around late afternoon, still plenty of sunlight outside, so I decided to walk to this cool shop call Miyahara shop. It was supposed to be a Japanese influence shop, and it was suppose to have a very Harry Porter like decoration inside. Above was the main entrance to the shop. I went there first because I also wanted to check out something very popular there which I wanted to try later on. More on that in the future post. But first, the Miyahara Store.

This is actually the cashier area. If you look up, it does look like a Harry Porter library. Business must be good since there are so many people queueing at the cashier!

A bigger view of the store in general. There was actually a restaurant upstairs selling western food. It looked very fancy that I didn't even bother walking up. The waiter attending to incoming guess was amused that I even walked up to the menu to take a look. Lol. I didn't bother dining here, I have no formal clothes to enter such a fancy place anyway.

So what does Miyahara store actually sells? Well, expensive things. Mainly editable things. Or drinkable. They have counters and shelves with beautiful display of their goods. The price, was of course at the high side. Kinda like Hayashi Department Store, but even more expensive, lol. Why am I even visiting all these store when I don't buy anything from them?

To be honest, I do want to buy souvenirs from places like these. I stood a long time in front of this tea set before walking away. Sometimes, the price just doesn't justify the goods. I just couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money if I don't think it would be worth it. It was just fancy packaging after all.

Talking about fancy packaging. When you purchase anything from the store, they will actually wrapped it for you, and you can pick the card and ribbons to go with it! I took a photo of this because I kinda like ribbons. I use them sometimes in my sewing projects, or paper craft bookmarks. Unfortunately, these weren't for sale.

Fancy chocolates were also for sale. But is Taiwan really famous for their chocolates?

Again, I was quite tempted to buy some of these fruit dipped chocolate. I recall why I walk away now. I have a love for orange and dark chocolate. But the oranges they have were dipped in white chocolate, and white chocolate in my opinion is an abomination!

More info on the fancy chocolate....

And leaving you where with a photo of me, my favourite shoe, standing in the Miyahara Store :P
Signing off!
