Moving on to less fragile objects from the Treasure Gallery, it also consist of wordings, letters, poems and songs! And I just love how the Chinese treasure these written words. It was almost as if these characters were magical. And I guess, indeed they were.
A whole hall dedicated to stone carvings, not of pictures and drawings, but of characters! Wordings. As if someone wanted them to last forever. The dedication they must have had. I mean, who determines what is to be carved in stone? Can anyone calve anything in stones? Or must it be an approved poem or stories?
Chinese crossword puzzle! Hahahaha. That's what I saw when I saw this. But basically the blanks are words that couldn't be make out. And I guess unlike English, every character in Chinese might mean something different, so it's a lot harder to guess the missing characters? Have you tried reading ancient chinese? One character could mean the whole story! Hahaha. Kidding. You get what I mean. It's almost like telegram. Short and sweet. Only, it wasn't so sweet when you have to take an exam on it.....
Metal craft are also part of the treasure. Or more like, decorative objects? Of worship? Below are some of those they say were treasure items....
Actually these kinda reminded me of Thai and Cambodian pieces. Maybe they were Buddhist or Hindu inspired? A stupa perhaps? Or a tomb like object?
Little God inside this beautifully jade and gold object. So much details on the piece!
Another stupa looking object.
Or maybe they were all the same, here is a photo of them together. You can roughly make out how large these objects are too. I'm standing at eye level with them while I took these photos.
A thousand hand Buddha? People in the old days sure have a lot of time for art!
