After a short walk, we made our way to the main temple, the Temple of Heaven. It was a clear blue sky day when we were there, with the sun super bright in the sky. What a lovely day to take photograph!
The tourist crowd wasn't as bad yet, so all my photos aren't as cluttered :P
It was such a huge space! Everything in China is just so spacious! My legs were hating me for it. On the right is the famous Temple of Heaven, and on the left is another temple. Around it are buildings where you could have parked your horses and kept utensils etc.
Walking around the main building was almost dizzying! (maybe from the bright sun!)
Zooming in on the door sign! Same concept as those in the Forbidden City.
If you ever wonder what is inside the Temple of Heaven, well, fear not! Here is a peep! That is all anyone will get anyway. Nobody can enter, but everywhere were just peeping in. Luckily it was quite a bright say so we could see what was inside. I love those tall red pillars that goes all the way up to heaven!
Walking up and down steps have now become a norm for me. If you can survive in Beijing, you can survive almost anywhere! No sweat at all when we visit Edinburgh the next year!
Souvenir shop of the husband.
One of myself too :) At this time, I haven't got my Pixel phone yet so I couldn't erase off the guy at the back.
I felt amazed that I've managed to be on track with my plan of Beijing so far. Everything has been smooth so far except for TianNanMen Square entrance tickets. I would have gotten pretty lost without Google Map, but thankfully my husband got the hang of using BaiDu map. I'm also forcing myself to learn how to use it for my next trip since I will be travelling solo in some part of the trip.
My next trip to test list:
- Calling a Didi Cab (but I suspect I would still avoid this in favour of public transport)
- Navigating using BaiDu to take the bus in Hangzhou
- Using my WeChat QR to take public transport (Bus and metro)
- Booking High Speed Rail to travel intercity.
