Crab Village Penang 2010

Another trip back to Penang, another faithful trip to Crab Village Tanjung Bungah. And this time, my hubby managed to take some photos of the food! And we also got their name card so I'm gonna promote this place to you guys out there simply because this place serves the nicest BBQ crab, and frankly, it's the only place I really enjoy eating crab!

So as the photo shows, this time round, we order 1kg of BBQ crab with roe (RM52), and cockles. The cockles really goes well with the chilli sauce that comes with it. This is also the only place I really enjoy eating cockles. Perhaps its the ambiance of eating near a fishing village in the evening as the sunset, with the sea breeze blowing in your hair, and the sound of Azan in the background...

Anyway, back to the food. After the crab and cockles, another must try is the fried oyster which is super creamy and yummy! We had those too, and end the meal with another 1kg of BBQ crab without roe (RM48+? ). Anyway, for 3 person (add another two plates of fried bee hoon and 4 ice lemonade and tea), the bill came up to RM141+, which is around S$58! That's super cheap for top class BBQ crab! I think I could just sit there whole night just going through plates after plates of those yummy crab!

In case you would like to try, Crab Village is found in Tanjung Bungah 547, Mukim 18, and it's near the floating mosque. They are close on Wednesday, and you can call 012-4135222 or 016-4859575 for reservation or direction to get there in case you're lost :) They specialises in BBQ Crab! The only thing is, you don't have the option to ask how the seafood can be cook for you, it only comes BBQed. Take it or leave it! And I'll take it any day over Chilli Crab, Salted Egg Crab, or even Hokkaido Crabs! The crab at this village is heavenly!
