Asian values: The longer hour you work, the more committed you are, the more hardworking you are. So please stay back daily and clock in more 'productive' hours! That seems to be the message I get these days. Is it the same for you as well? An enlightening thought indeed.
Dear Lengzhai Boss, if you're reading this, from today onwards, all your request will take 3 times longer then usual, cause PPA needs to earn a bigger bonus this year by doing more OT so that I will be rewarded for being hardworking and committed and give the impression that I am doing more work then others :P
Are you in the 'IT support' team?
ReplyDeleteDear PPA,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with what you have said. From henceforth, your lengzai and dearest boss shall also follow your example, but minus the OT part cos I am too darn lazy to waste my life away just to OT (without pay somemore!)
:P
Dear Sweet Little Piggy (just typing your name is making me hungry),
ReplyDeleteI am erm in user support, report generator, and part time developer. But its not the nature of the job that I am highlighting here, but more of the bossess evaluate their staff performance
Dear Lengzai Boss, you no need to OT also good appraisal. PPA OT also still remain a slave. Life is sad to a Cordy
ReplyDeleteIn most established company, there are clear well-defined KPIs to measure the staff performance and it must be sign-off by both parties - the manager and subordinate. The KPIs must be measurable. If they cannot be measure, it simply means that you are working in a lousy stupid organisation. This type of organisation will eat you alive.

ReplyDeleteOvertime can be measured, and can be plotted into a graph. But what does it imply when you work more OT? More hard working? Or more inefficient? hmmmmm
ReplyDeleteBtw, here's a nice link on KPI, from my friend's site :)
