Kyushu 2023 - Kagoshima Sakurajima Lunch Break at Town

After seeing the highlight of Sakurajima, we took the bus back to the main town area to look for lunch. I was expecting some cafe or restaurant here, but not much luck. Unless you wanted to dine in a resort hotel, or just have some coffee there weren't any family restaurant in sight.

But we do have a special power for getting our meals from the supermakets! We found a small co-op supermarket in town, and went in the hunt for lunch. Luckily they sell bento set!

Not too shabby too! With a nice price, we both got our bento lunch, paid, and went and sat outside the store to eat them. We enjoyed our lunch so much that even some locals walking by told us how delicious our lunch looked! Hahahaha. I thought they were kinda cute for saying that. I felt really welcome here.

Some of the small park area in the small town. Basically almost everywhere you look you will see the volcano as a backdrop.

After lunch, we went to explore around the town area. There should be a trail area nearby that I wanted to do. Since we've been on the bus most of the first half of the day, I've reserved the afternoon for trail walks! Aren't I a great tour guide! We headed to the sea are, and found a nice foot bath here at the edge of the sea. I always wanted to soak my legs in, but my husband always decline cause it would be troublesome to wear our shoes back on with wet feet.....  The only time I was allowed to soak my legs in a hot foot bath was in the hot river of Hokkaido at Noboribetsu.... come to think of it, that was a lot more dangerous than a man made foot bath!

We saw some fishing jetty. But you had to pay a small sum to enter and fish inside, which I thought was rather strange. Maybe that was to deter all the tourist like us from wandering in and disturbing the peace of all the fishing buddies inside.

But the sea water was beautiful! Deep blue. And the jetty out looked stunning against it.

I mean, just look at the photo! And imagine being there seeing this with your own eyes. Believe me, it's 100 times better. With the salty wind in your face, the warm sun light on your skin. That feeling of being alive! Please please please go see the world! (Says Cordy to herself as she ponder whether to head to Shanghai in September this year on a solo trip.....).

More iconic view, almost like out of an advertisement.

I also love the dark coloured black rocks below the sea water. It made it looked even more magical and mysterious. Like there was a whole different world under those water.

Walking along the sea side, there were places I could spot the ferry sailing by too.

Almost a photo spot. Like those tourism photo selling you a sight.

Here's a last one with just the blue sea and the black rocks.
