Kyushu 2023 - Kagoshima Sakurajima Yunohira Observatory

The next observatory was the main one, Yunohira Observatory. The bus took a while to reach there as it's all the way up the slope to get closer and closer to the volcano. Why are we even headed there??? There are smokes coming out!

Signs warning you not to go! We passed through a whole little area of graveyards. The graveyards here were rather unique. They each have a roof on it, and kinda like a small hut surrounding them. It's almost like each was a little house by itself. And they were found at the foot of the slope, slightly away from a small town.

The photo view point when we reach the top. This was the closest we are allowed to get to the volcano for our safety. Which was fine with me!

Zooming in using my mobile camera. Wow no smoke! Haha, kidding. If you compare this against the previous photo, the smoking part is more to the right side.

But look! A platform at the valley of the mountains! It looked like a stage! What is it? What is it used for??? My imagine was running wild! But there would be no answer to my madness, so let's just move on.

Here is the zoom in on the smoking volcano. With it's thick poisonous smoke coming out....

There is also an indoor small museum, with surrounding balcony with binoculars and viewing platform.

Besides looking out at the volcano, you could also aim your eyes at other lovely sights of the island. Like towards the city of Kagoshima and beyond! It was such a lovely day for sight seeing. You could actually see quite far away!

The ferries of Sakurajima, almost making heart shapes in the water as they move along their route <3

And here is me with Sakurajima volcano behind me. Yay! I love this place despite my fear and madness.
